Dr Iain Boulton is the Biodiversity and Environmental Compliance Manager for Lambeth Council’s Parks and Open Spaces Service. He has worked at the council for over 24 years and is responsible for helping manage and improve Lambeth’s 78 parks, commons and other public open spaces. Iain is also responsible for looking after and promoting the wildlife and biodiversity of Lambeth, not just in our parks and open spaces, and has a particular interest in how we can change the way we manage land to benefit not just wildlife, but also people’s access to and enjoyment of it.
Iain is also the Vice Chair of the Association of Local Government Ecologists (ALGE), which represents ecologists working across over 200 local authorities and National Parks across the found countries of England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland, and leads on issues including biodiversity net gain, local nature recovery and planning policy for ALGE in working with UK and regional Government and other agencies.
