Kingston is a thriving Borough powered by an attractive and successful Metropolitan town centre, ranked third best in London.

To ensure that the town centre and Borough interests are maintained and progressed the Council with its partners seeks to guide and influence new development, public realm improvements and sustainable transport initiatives across the town centre through the Kingston Futures programme.

Kingston Futures seeks to optimise the areas within the town centre where redevelopment can come forward to accommodate new commercial, cultural, leisure and residential opportunities, as well as undertaking public realm and sustainable transport improvements that can act as important catalysts for further development and lever in public and private investment.

Key re-development opportunities include the Eden Quarter and North Kingston areas, and key public realm enhancements include the Ancient Market and the Riverside Walk, with the Mayor of London’s Mini-Holland project headlining the next phase of sustainable transport improvements.
