About the NLA NextGen Committee
NLA NextGen brings together emerging professionals from across the built environment to connect, develop their skills and help shape London’s future.
Through its committee, research and events programme, the network provides a platform for early-career professionals to share perspectives, broaden their networks and contribute to the conversations shaping the sector.
The NextGen Committee
The NextGen Committee represents the network and works with NLA to champion emerging voices across the built environment. Its members identify the needs and ambitions of early-career professionals, helping shape opportunities for career progression, skills development and collaboration through NLA’s programme and beyond.

NextGen Rising
The committee is developing NextGen Rising: How London can back its emerging talent, a research project placing early-career professionals at the heart of London’s built environment agenda.
The research aims to produce practical recommendations for employers, educators and policymakers to unlock potential, address skills gaps and create the conditions for diverse talent to thrive.
Highlighting initiatives already making a difference alongside the challenges that remain, the project focuses on three priorities:
- Clearer progression pathways
- Stronger skills development
- More inclusive workplace cultures
NextGen events
NLA hosts monthly NextGen networking events at member venues across London, bringing together new and familiar faces for informal evenings of conversation and connection.
