After attending law school, James went immediately into the insurance industry working for three years as a commercial insurance broker in policy placement and claims handling. Deciding to specialise in professional insurance, James then joined a predecessor firm of Lockton in 1998, where he worked as placement broker and claims handler for a variety of professional firms, before subsequently leading a team of brokers dealing with larger and more complex professional firms as a Director of the Bristol office of Lockton.

 

In 2009, James joined Brunel Professions as their Director of Claims & Technical providing contentious claims handling, coverage analysis, risk management and contract review services to their clients. James performed this role for the next 14 years assisting a wide range of corporate and owner managed firms in meeting the challenges facing their businesses.

 

In 2023, James re-joined Lockton to lead its Profin Advisory Contracts & Technical team, and is excited to deploy his decades of knowledge & experience in the service of the clients of the largest privately owned broker in the world.
