Melek leads in a cross-borough programme in local government focused on driving active change for more equitable representation in knowledge economy sectors; Tech & digital, creative and life science. Her work is centred around building partnerships and programmes with industry leaders, to create meaningful progress in DE&I; from strategy and development, right up to implementation. Her current work is focused around inclusivity in the built environment as it sits central across knowledge economy sectors. 

 

Melek’s current aim is to reverse-engineer a ‘level-up’ internship programme identifying a key area/entry level skills gap in the built environment – carving a talent pipeline and career pathway into the sector that starts from no experience or qualifications.
