Since joining SOM in 2018, Sukriye ‘Rae’ Robinson has focused on mixed-use commercial buildings that seek to deliver the next generation of workspaces. With human-centric design at the forefront of her ethos, Rae seeks to find innovative, wellness-focused strategies that respond to the needs and aspirations of end users today and in the future.
Rae is an SOM Sustainability Champion and has worked on a number of research projects that push the boundaries and challenge sustainability and design norms. She has a particular interest in sustainable materials and, as part of a firm-wide task force, spearheads the SOM London office’s material de-carbonisation efforts. Rae is considered an industry-wide expert on materials, earning her a place on the IWBI WELL Advisory Board for Materials. She is also working with the London Energy Transformation Initiative (LETI) to tackle challenges of low carbon material specification and procurement and is helping to shape the UK Net Zero Carbon Buildings Standard. Rae is also a board member of CTBUH's London Chapter.
