Tom has worked for Historic England for 17 years. He is a qualified architectural historian, heritage planner and urban designer who specialises in the conservation and management of major heritage sites.  He has worked in a local authority planning team and as an Inspector of Historic Buildings and Areas at Historic England. He is currently Regional Director for London and South East, where he leads on all Historic England’s planning, listing, research and grants work in the capital and wider south east.
