High life: housing in London and Toronto

Webinar

Thursday 21 March 2024
14:00 - 15:30

Join us for a London-Toronto discussion where we will explore the challenges and future of high-rise housing in both cities.
The event starts at 14:00 (London) / 10:00 (Toronto).

Published in September 2023, the NLA 'Housing Londoners' report delves into London’s housing sector and offers a series of recommendations to ensure new housing best meets the needs of Londoners. In London, high-rise living often comes with high service charges and incomes, raising questions about the affordability and quality of life of this typology. While in Toronto, a new set of standards for high-rise housing has been established, recognizing the importance of quality of life for families and children. How can tall buildings better accommodate the needs of residents? What do successful projects look like? And what is the future of high-rise living in both cities?

Join us in this webinar where experts from London and Toronto will discuss and examine the challenges and prospects of high-rise housing. This event forms a part of the NLA City Dialogues programme, which brings together speakers and audiences to foster cross-city dialogue and learning between cities.
