Andrew is a Director at RM_A with over 25 years’ experience delivering residential and mixed-use projects across a wide range of scales, including tall buildings, on complex and sensitive urban sites. He joined the practice as a graduate, and his professional growth has paralleled the development and success of the studio over the past two and a half decades. 

Andrew is passionate about the collaborative nature of architecture, working with teams and communities from initial concept through to completion. He is driven by the creative resolution of complex challenges, from community engagement and regeneration, to viability and construction, to design and deliver places where people can thrive. 

 

He has led the design team for the Stroudley Walk project since the initial viability studies with Muse in 2017, public consultation and engagement in 2018 which helped shape the proposals, and the preparation of the planning application and environmental statement in 2020. RM_A were retained by Muse after planning to develop the scheme through to tender, and were subsequently novated to the main contractor. Andrew has continued to represent Muse on the client side while also overseeing the construction stage works. 

 

Construction commenced in January 2023. In February 2023, when the Mayor of London mandated second staircases in all new buildings over 30 metres, Andrew led the rapid review and adaptation of the scheme with the client and contractor, to incorporate a second staircase, future-proofing the building safety of the scheme before the new regulations came into force. Stroudley Walk has been recognised as an example of how high-quality, inclusive design and genuine collaboration can unlock density and deliver better homes for London.
