Mina Hasman
Mina Hasman leads sustainability and wellbeing operations at SOM, where she directs the firm’s global climate action strategies. Her work spans across Europe, the UK, Asia and the Middle East, offering expertise in sustainable design across diverse climates and regulatory contexts. A recognised expert, Mina chairs the UK’s Construction Industry Council’s Climate Change Committee, and serves on the RIBA Council and the UNEP/GlobalABC’s COP Task Force. She is also the Commonwealth Association of Architects’ (CAA) Regional Vice President for Europe and tutors at various academic institutions, including The Bartlett (UCL) and the Manchester School of Architecture. 

Using her work as part of the transdisciplinary “Climate Framework” Initiative, Mina helped the RIBA to define its Mandatory Competence Requirements for climate literacy and authored the “RIBA Climate Guide”. Her leadership has earned many accolades, including the TIME Magazine’s 2023 list of top 100 Climate Leaders in the world, and The Big 5 Construction Award for Sustainable Leader of the Year in 2021. For her contribution to the advancement of the built environment industry and academia, she was honored with an Honorary Doctorate Degree by UCEM. Mina continues to shape the future of climate advocacy through her involvement with awards, such as the RIBA’s Stirling Prize, Silver Medal and the CAA Awards.
