Social Innovation: inclusive growth in innovation districts

Talk

Thursday 16 December 2021
10:00 - 11:00

This webinar explores the inclusive growth of innovation districts and how this can be harnessed and maximised for social innovation.
Innovation districts are beginning to play a critical role in challenging economic and social divides through increasing accessibility and collaboration. Research and medical institutions that were once closed off to local business and communities, are embracing their locality and supporting inclusive growth while remaining global hubs of innovation. Academic and cultural institutions are building community wealth by sharing assets and providing access to facilities, cutting edge technology and education and job training. Innovation districts within a city context need to create the right balance between interaction with the public and local communities as well as attracting global business.

This webinar explores the inclusive growth of innovation districts and how this can be harnessed and maximised for social innovation. How do you engage and attract local communities to innovation led quarters and build in accessibility? How do you use these opportunities to provide growth and upskill local people without leaving them behind?
