Joanna Rowelle
Joanna is a Director, and UKIMEA Board Member at Arup, where she leads the London Business. She works on projects linked to economic development, governance models, delivery vehicles and funding and finance. She advises city and national governments on topics including infrastructure investment, regeneration, and economic policy. She recently led the Towns Fund Programme, a business case for the East Midlands Locally Led Development Corporation and a metro project in Auckland, New Zealand and is working on a legacy programme for East West Rail. She led the Thames Estuary Vision to 2050 for the Thames Estuary Commission and is still active across the region. Joanna has authored reports on subjects including equalities, competitiveness, innovative funding models, and growth. She has spoken at international conferences covering topics such as sustainable place making, social value, economic development, and regeneration. She is on the Board of the Major Projects Association, a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and a Member of the Institute of Economic Development.
